Where Is He and What Is He Doing?

You are a powerful Norse god. Only you can wield the mighty Mjölnir. Thunder responds to your command. You are the almighty Thor!

All work and no play makes a Norse god a cranky god.

With summer comes busy schedules all around, and added challenges for myself as I attempt to keep up with my blog and all the many blogs I like to follow, while still finding time to write and edit. So, in the spirit of the season we are switching up Wednesday and making it light and fun.

Introducing a new game: Where is Thor and what is he doing? In keeping with the theme of the Immortal Monday posts plus my little Monkey’s crush on a certain someone, we have chosen Thor as our mascot. Each Wednesday a picture of Thor will be posted. You have the option of either telling us where you think he really is and what he’s doing – OR – you can have fun with it, let your creativity flow. The most creative or most accurate will go down in the Immortal Hall of Fame forever! Okay, maybe not. But everyone here will clap and applaud your brilliance.

My kids are actively involved in this effort and will be taking Thor on his many mighty adventures. My gas tank is the limit.  😉

The following Wednesday you will get the answer in a short picture post followed by a new challenge at the end. What do you say? Ready to start?…

Where is Thor and what is he doing?

Remember, even gods and immortals need a break from the everyday grind. Now give us either your best guess or entertain us with a delightful story we can’t possibly forget.

~oOo~

Please know that I always appreciate your time, and love it when you stop by and take the time to comment. Huge thanks! If you enjoyed this post or any of my previous posts, I’d be delighted to have you follow by email or RSS for any future posts!

  1. looks like fun but I haven’t the foggiest idea LOL

  2. Haha. Love it! I think he’s at a fast food joint, punching out a greasy burger 🙂

  3. Well, obviously Thor is attempting to subdue the evil donut God Sugaracidous. Sugar, as his God friends like to call him, is a vile trickster who will make you believe you’re eating a donut for the good of all mankind when really what you’re doing is destroying yourself from the inside. It’s an insidious way to weaken humanity until they are all soft, doughy balls of flesh bowing before Sugar’s command. Sure, he could just use his Cane of Destiny, but Sugar likes to watch his victims succumb to his sweetness gradually. I suppose you could say he likes to play with his food.

Fear not! Thor will defeat Sugaracidous with his mighty hammer and a well-balanced diet full of berries, nuts, proteins, veggies, and whole grains.

Did you hear that? It was Sugar lamenting the whole grains! Yes!! Thor has won the day. Sugar is a nothing more than an ooey-gooey mess of slop dripping off the kitchen counter.

  4. Funny—he looks to be lamenting over food to me, too! 😉 I’d say he’s approaching world’s largest pretzel after a multi-day fast in the wilderness. Should he eat the low-nutrient food? He needs the fuel, after all! Even “empty calories” beats nothing. But what if it’s poisonous, set out by an arch enemy? If he stares at it long enough, the truth will be revealed…

  5. I have it on good authority that Thor is actually at Bob Evans for dinner with his family. It’s tradition for them to order an entire jumbo turkey. Norse gods have big appetites, after all. The angry look on his face is due to the fact that his father, Odin, has claimed the wishbone for himself, as he does every meal. The staff at Bob Evans are prepared for the eventual brawl, which is also tradition, and have cleared the restaurant of other guests. After the meal and inevitable repairs, the bill tends to be quite high, hence the reason Thor’s family rarely eats out.

    • Debra Kristi says:

Haha. We were laughing at Thor’s angry face (Now I hear Mrs. Potato Head say the line “Angry eyes!” Ugh). I can see where the Asgard family would take a toll on any restaurant. I suspect it’s difficult to find one that allows them to come back more than once. *Smirks*

      Fun! Thanks for playing, Samantha.

  6. Debra Kristi says:

I LOVE it! You are all cracking me up. Bring it on! You could be headed in the right direction. 🙂 Monkey may have had some influence on his destination. 😀

  7. mj monaghan says:

Funny you mention Thor, Debra. As I was out gathering sustenance, I saw Thor. He asked me to pass this along:

“Mere humans – though don’t let the word ‘mere’ seem so negative – I wanted to pass along how grateful I am to you for your love of food, and in particular the In-N-Out Burger. We do not have such delectable meat on my home planet. I usually have mine ‘animal style’ as you call it. And though it’s very sweet, I will occasionally, I believe you say ‘chase’ my burger down with a chocolate milkshake. I can’t do that often, as I must maintain my svelte figure for fighting crime. Until we meet again, it’s ‘Hammer-Time’. Hahaha, I heard there’s someone named MC Hammer, who stole my line.”

Interesting little bit of monologue from the heavy-wielding Thor, eh?

    • Debra Kristi says:

IN-N-Out! Good choice my dear man! Good choice. The founders were from my home town. 🙂 Shall we inform Thor? Nah. I suspect he couldn’t care less. Gods have little use for such trivial information important to mere humans. 😀 And as for burgers and chocolate shakes, I think Thor can handle it. Something tells me he will manage to maintain his physic. Can you picture Thor with a gut?

      • mj monaghan says:

You’re right, Debra. He definitely doesn’t have to worry about his figure.

Hey, where are the founders from, and what is your home town??

        • Debra Kristi says:

I grew up hanging out at the Covina, CA location (2nd store they opened). They kept a close eye on how the original stores were run and the guys from my church knew the brothers personally. I remember when Rich died in the plane crash and his brother Guy stepped up to take over the running of the business.

  8. Elisa says:

He’s angry because someone turned Natalie Portman into a . . . Donut. Lol. I love this 😉

  9. Fabio Bueno says:

He’s obviously on top a cat, by the sofa.

  10. It’s clear to me that Thor has stumbled upon the world’s largest glob of melted caramel. His brows are drawn together as he thinks to himself, “Hmm. I wonder how this giant glob of melted caramel got here.” It’s also obvious that he was actually considering pigging out on it, too, but pulled his fist back in the nick of time. Because Thor is well aware of the fact that if he were to eat a giant glob of melted caramel, he would lose his draw at the box office. Even though there would be so much more of him to love, we love our Thor just as he is. 🙂

    • Debra Kristi says:

Mmmm, caramel! Monkey and I were eyeing some of that today as we stood in front of the Dairy Queen menu (FB picture – ice cream larger than her head!). 😀 She did not go with the caramel after all that ogling. How many calories do you think lifting that hammer burns? That seems like a pretty hefty exercise to me. Hehe.

  11. Imelda Evans says:

Thor has been delivered beignet without the requisite drenching of icing sugar. Thor needs his empty calories. Thor is not happy. Some. One. Will. Pay…

    Love this game! 😉

    • Debra Kristi says:

Welcome, Imelda! I’m so glad you stopped by to play. So is Thor! The beignet – not the fine beignet from the famous French Quarter? I can see why Thor’s brow is furrowed. No beignet is proper without the finishing touches! We cannot stand for this!!! ;D

  12. Love this! Thor is battling the evil Cosmic Muffin, which has descended upon the Earth to spread sweet, buttery calories over the land, sinking all humanity into a carb-induced coma!

Have to say, Thor is my favorite, Chris Hemsworth, so dreamy! Hub and I watched Thor again over the weekend. His comment: “You just wanted to look at him, didn’t you?” Couldn’t deny it. 😉

    • Debra Kristi says:

A Cosmic Muffin? To what planet or galaxy do we owe thanks? Thor does so love a good battle. Makes the man, as he says. Or do I say that? 🙂

You are in good company my friend. Monkey and I enjoy taking in some Chris eye candy every now and again. What’s not to like? Thanks for playing!

  13. Karen McFarland says:

Oh Debra, my kids are grown and I’ve not seen this Thor action doll before. I am so in the dark with this. But in the spirit of fun, I’ll throw my hat into the ring. Okay. Thor looks very disturbed and angry. He is mustering all his strength and focus in order to save his people from a giant planet sent out of orbit to destroy his queen and kingdom. LOLOL Debra! I hope this meets up to Monkey’s standards! 🙂

    • Debra Kristi says:

What? You haven’t seen the Thor “action figure”? Well, this is not an action figure. This is the real deal. 😉 Thor likes your entry. It has made him sound very warrior like – stepping up to save his queen and kingdom. Thor is up to the challenge. He is a strong god and will take on any trial set before him. Thank you for playing.

  14. Like any man after my heart, he’s getting ready to attack and eat that Krispy Kreme doughnut in front of him….now I want a doughnut real bad…with a side of Greek God. What are the chances I can find both in the next five minutes? Love the new post idea btw!

    • Debra Kristi says:

Thor likes your heart, my lady. Krispy Kreme doughnuts are a rare treat indeed. Worthy of a good fight. Hard to come by in these parts. He would gladly lay down his hammer for such a delicacy. We all hope you found what you were seeking. Although Thor says it is highly unlikely that you would find any Greek god even close to the fine qualities he has to offer. Yes, he does sound a little on the conceited side. I’m just hosting him. I didn’t raise him to be that way. What can I say?

  15. LOL. Clearly he’s baking a cake that has risen slightly more than he expected. He’s now pondering how he’s going to hack it into chunks for his warriors (because they all like cake).

    Cheers!

    • Debra Kristi says:

Can you hear all his men grunting? That would be the sound of contentment. Wait. What? Now they seek ale to wash down all that cake. My, this sounds like a never ending cycle. But, mmmm, that frosty goodness sure hit the spot. Or so I am told. Cheers! Thanks for playing!
