Friends – Gods – Tours and Crazy Moments of Immaturity

Where has everyone gone? Oh, wait. I’m the one who went missing!! MIA-me and Thor. Where have we been? You’re not thinking we ran off together, or are you? Nooo. That’s just silly. If you’ve been following this blog, then you know Thor is somewhere in Canada and I am not.

Maybe I’m hanging out with Chris Hemsworth. Alright, you got me. That’s it.

Hahahaha. You didn’t fall for that, did you? He’s just far too fine for me. A lady has certain requirements. Mine – the man cannot be finer. It will mess with my insecurities on a daily basis, I’m just sayin’.  😉

But seriously, I’ve been hiding in my writer’s cave again. I crawled out a few times to gaze upon the vast twitter and Facebook world and was quickly overwhelmed with the amount of messages and posts (that sometimes happens). I didn’t know where to begin so I did nothing. Instead I crawled back in my writer’s cave.

BUT…and this is a big…I got the most amazing message from my twitter and blogger pal, Susie Lindau. You might know her from Susie Lindau’s Wild Ride. If you don’t, I highly suggest you check out her fun blog.  It turned out she was going to be in my neck of the woods (sort of). I couldn’t let that happen and not see her. Several writer/blogger pals pulled together for an amazing evening. We met up at the very unique Renee’s Courtyard Cafe in Santa Monica. In addition to Susie, I got to meet Debra Eve from Late Bloomer, and had the chance to spend some quality time with August McLaughlin and Lynn Kelly, as I’d met them both briefly before. Pop over here to read about that night.

While we were wining, dining and laughing up a storm I caught wind of Thor landing at the home of Deliberately Delicious. Thor and Sally wasted no time getting acquainted and hit the town immediately. What’s the story?

Thor – girl’s night out – Victoria’s Secret!  Oh my!

Click on the link above to read all about it.

Oh, but wait. Do you know what happened? Lean in closer. Can you keep a secret? We don’t want to hurt Sally’s feelings.

You know how Thor can fly, right? He’s got that whole wind, lightening, swinging hammer action. He got wind of our little gathering and became intrigued. When Sally and her gal pals weren’t looking he stepped away for few minutes and flew in to woo us. I have to admit we were left a little breathless.

Although, with the way he kept gazing at the lushes lollipop Lynn gave him,  one would think we all came in a close second, behind the pretty little candy.

And then he was gone, leaving us sad and empty. Our state of withdrawal left us wide open for him. His own jealousy drew him in.

“You will kneel before me!” Loki bellowed as he appeared on the scene.

What were we to do? He was a god.

We all went out of our way to make the famous trickster as comfortable as possible. This actually bored him. Finding little challenge with us weaker beings, he too, left. And then there were none. Sigh.

Those boys. Have you ever had to deal with jealous siblings? What will Thor have in store for us next time? Do you think we’ve seen the last of Loki? Until then, my friends.

Reminders: It’s never too late to jump on the Thor tour.  All you need to do is drop me a line. Thor now has his own page by which you can track his progress, catch up on older updates, or just check out fun trivia, videos, and pictures that will be added to on a regular basis. Check it out! Find the link at the top of the page.

Also, this blog will be relocating to a self-hosted site at some point near the end of the year. I hope you’ll follow us to the new digs. My fabulous designer, Laird Sapir, and I have some pretty amazing ideas (I think) and I hope you’ll enjoy what we create there.

  1. *gasp* Loki visited you? Wow! I’m so jealous I’m not on the west coast so I could meet up with all of you! And Loki lol. Well, maybe not Loki. But definitely Thor. Sorry Loki, Thor is just hotter than you 😀

We would have loved it if you had been able to make it. Maybe at some date in the future. Everyone’s whispering about Thor behind Loki’s back. It makes Loki very angry. LOL.

This is so great Debra! I absolutely loved meeting all of you!
Thanks so very much for the wonderful shout out. You will have to come to Colorado for a visit next time!
That Thor is quite a guy! He’ll have to hit the ski slopes with Danny and me!

I had wondered if I missed a post or two from you and was going to check and see when this email notice came in! Congrats on focusing on your project! Can’t wait to see what you have been up to!
    Happy Halloween!

    Happy Halloween!

Thor has been a very bad boy as I saw on Delicious’s blog. *Head shake*
Love the photos of all you guys with your super heros. I agree with Melinda, Thor is hotter than Loki. Just say’in!

Crazy moments of immaturity! I love it! Those are the best moments, especially with girlfriends. 🙂 Thor’s latest adventure is hilarious. I’m not sure how he managed to sneak away from Sally!

I’m glad Loki got to have a little fun, too–at least until he got bored. LOL.

  5. Deliberately Delicious says:

I am shocked! And there I was, thinking that Thor was having a nice quiet rest after his night of debauchery with me! Those Norse gods are something else!

    • Debra Kristi says:

Now I understand why he couldn’t stay long. You showed him one hell of a good time. He was in a hurry to get back. What happened that you’re not talking about? Hmm?

  6. Ahhh, Loki. That wicked little smile. He certainly is a trickster. I need to head over and read what Thor’s been up to in his adventures. I can’t believe I missed him! Dang it. If I’d known Thor and Loki were going to be there… well, I still couldn’t make it. Next time.

    • Debra Kristi says:

It was a real bummer that you couldn’t make it, but understandable. Definitely – next time. You were very missed. And Thor still has you on the list of stops. He’ll be seeing. 😉

  7. Emma says:

I should spend more time in my own writer’s cave. Must be very cool to meet up with blogger friends.

  8. I nearly flew off the elliptical machine just now, Debra. Hilarious!!! So the secret’s out. I list after Thor. Or is it Susie I’m after? Tough to tell from the photo. 😉

Thanks for this post, and again for that history-making night of fun. I LOVE that you slip away to your writer’s cave, by the way. I hope your latest retreat rocked!

    • Debra Kristi says:

I hope you avoided injury. It may not be safe to read blogs and exercise. 😉 Well, not everything turned out as planned in my writer’s cave, but there were some things that came out of it. So the time was not wasted. Thanks, August.

  9. Debra Eve says:

Those are almost blackmail photos! August and Susie look a bit … interested … in Thor. Really enjoyed meeting you and the gals, Debra. May that night live in legend 🙂

    • Debra Kristi says:

You’re right, they almost are. They were having too much fun. Love it! I really enjoyed meeting all of you as well. I’m so glad we all got together. I hope we can do it again sometime in the future.

  10. tedstrutz says:

To say I am shocked, would be an understatement! But am I surprised… No. To infect those sweet women with your mindless obsession over a 6″ piece of plastic… well, it borders on unmentionable. Especially, that innocent from the backwoods of Colorado. Do you see her in that photo??? I thought he was in Canada.

    • tedstrutz says:

Oh My God! I just went to the Noted Sand Dollar Collector in Victoria, B.C.’s blog to see if Thor is really there… he is, and having the time of his life it seems… How are you going to top that, Debra? He is only 21 miles away from me at the moment. I would have her send him over on the ferry, but I’m leaving my writer’s cave for Hawaii tomorrow.

    • Debra Kristi says:

These were taken by me with my camera. There are pictures out there somewhere taken by the husband with me in them. They weren’t on my camera though, so I couldn’t share them. 😦

  11. lynnkelleyauthor says:

Bravo, Debra! What a hoot! Those pics you took are a riot! Now to check out those other links you added…
